Rationale for a Daily Devotional
The daily devotional & group Bible study feature is designed to help teens connect scripture to their lives. Their struggles with social, societal, and identity issues are often left for the world to answer. Sometimes teens find it hard to see how the Bible applies to their daily experiences. This feature provides short, daily devotionals that assist them in making connections between the Bible and their lives.
The devotional is meant to help teens reflect on sermons and do their Bible study with their peers. Each devotional includes a focus scripture, spaces for observation & analysis, and an individual or guided prayer option following the SOAP method. This feature will also give youth a space to connect with their eGroup and leaders to increase community interaction and spiritual growth.

Final Designs
The egroup devotional will allow teens to bring what they've learned from their individual devotional time to their egroup. The group space will foster a digital community where teens can learn from their peers and leaders. The Bible was added to the app so users will have a more complete experience. Users will be able to read and analyze scriptures all in the same place.
The final designs include a sermon recap from the most recent Sunday and an individual devotional that follows the SOAP method. This devotional will support teens during their Bible study and help them understand the sermons. Additionally, I've created a playlist that features songs related to the sermon themes. This will help teens deepen their connection with God through worship.

About Elevation Church
Elevation Church is a church based in North Carolina. The church has multiple locations along the East Coast and an online ministry that reaches people worldwide. Elevation has various small group ministries known as eGroups, where people can meet together to read the Bible, engage in sermon discussions, and deepen their faith through community.
Teens at Elevation Church are struggling to read their Bibles consistently. Teens are unsure of where to begin, how to analyze the text, and struggle with dedicating time to a daily devotional. They desire to read the Bible, but lack the necessary guidance to understand the scriptures, resulting in low engagement with the daily devotional time.
Problem Statement
To design a daily devotional feature within the Elevation Church app, that will increase teens daily enagement with their Bibles, and to create a space for yth egroups to connect within the app.
